Jo Padmore is an optician who absolutely loves her job, and is very proud of her small but thriving practice in the heart of Didsbury.

Jo qualified at London’s innovative City University, before returning to her beloved home ground to complete her pre-registration qualification in 1993 at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, a world renowned Centre Of Excellence.

For as long as she can remember…

..Little Miss Padmore daydreamed about following in her mother’s footsteps and owning an independent practice in the village she grew up in.

Jo then worked as a locum for ten years before deciding to open her own business.

It was a big leap of faith, and lots of hard work, but she has loved every single minute of it and has never looked back.

18 years later…

..she runs a thriving practice which continues to go from strength to strength thanks to her amazing team and clients; many of whom have become good friends. Didsbury is in Jo’s blood; it will always be her home and the community will always be at the centre of everything she does.

It’s not all work and no play

When she’s not working you’ll find her and Matt run ragged by their five teenagers and Peggy the dog… I mean…who would?

The Royal Exchange, Wine and Wallop and yoga are her safe spaces…!!
